SOLAR & STORAGE EXPO CONFERENCE 2026: ALL THE KEY TOPICS OF THE ENERGY TRANSITION

Buildings, agrivoltaics, industry and energy storage systems take centre stage during the two-day event scheduled in Vicenza on 22–23 September. Two days of discussion in Vicenza on buildings, industry, agrivoltaics, storage and energy competitiveness.

On 22 September, SolarBuilding, organised by Italia Solare, will focus on the role of photovoltaics and self-consumption in building energy retrofits.

On 23 September, AGICI will present the Renewable Energy Study 2026, analysing the role and potential of flexibility in supporting renewable energy sources.

Vicenza, 10 June 2026 – SSEC – Storage & Solar Expo Conference, the exhibition event organised by IEG – Italian Exhibition Group in collaboration with Meneghini&Associati and supported by Italia Solare, entirely dedicated to photovoltaics and energy storage systems, is gearing up for its two-day conference programme, scheduled for 22–23 September 2026 at the Vicenza Exhibition Centre, by unveiling the content of its inaugural edition.

Alongside a highly specialised exhibition area designed to foster direct interaction among industry professionals, companies, designers, installers, investors and large energy users, SSEC will feature a comprehensive conference programme including keynote speeches, round tables and fireside chats focused on the sector’s key challenges and opportunities.

The programme is structured around four main thematic areas: solar building and energy-efficient building renovation; agrivoltaics and new models integrating energy production and agriculture; energy and industrial competitiveness; and storage, flexibility and digitalisation supporting renewable energy development.

SSEC’s conference programme has been designed to analyse market developments not only from a technological perspective but also through industrial, regulatory and economic lenses, providing professionals with practical tools to understand ongoing transformations and identify new growth opportunities.

The four thematic areas are the result of a listening process involving the business community of North-East Italy and the needs expressed by companies, industry operators, trade associations and stakeholders across the solar and storage value chain. These are issues that are increasingly relevant to the market, highlighting the need to address energy efficiency, industrial competitiveness, renewable integration and security of energy supply in a concrete and pragmatic way.

Conference Highlights – 22 September

The thematic programme will open with SolarBuilding, organised by Italia Solare as part of its annual roadshow dedicated to photovoltaic and energy-efficiency professionals. The event will focus on the role of photovoltaics and self-consumption in building energy renovation, with particular attention to the residential and commercial & industrial sectors, investment support schemes, the Conto Termico 3.0 incentive programme, the EU Green Homes Directive and the opportunities currently available to citizens, businesses and industry operators.

Also on the opening day, attention will turn to agrivoltaics through a conference organised by Legambiente. The session will explore agrivoltaics as a model capable of combining energy production and agricultural profitability on the same land. Discussions will focus on project models, agronomic requirements, regulatory frameworks and business opportunities for agricultural enterprises, developers and technology providers.

Conference Highlights – 23 September

The second day, opening with a conference organised by ANIE Rinnovabili, will focus on energy storage and, among other topics, the relationship between energy and industrial competitiveness through a session curated by Elemens.

Against a backdrop of volatile energy prices and growing attention to energy costs, discussions will address the impact of energy on corporate margins, the role of self-generation, PPAs, photovoltaics and storage, as well as the financial and regulatory tools capable of transforming energy from a critical cost factor into a strategic driver of competitiveness.

The programme will also feature a debate organised by Prospecta Formazione, providing Continuing Professional Development (CPD) credits, focusing on buildings, industry and energy. In addition, AGICI will lead a session dedicated to flexibility, digitalisation and storage solutions supporting renewable energy development.

This topic is increasingly central to the stability of the electricity system and the growth of renewable energy sources, requiring solutions capable of balancing supply and demand, enhancing the value of storage systems, enabling demand response and fostering more efficient and intelligent energy management.

SSEC: where industry meets the energy transition

“With SSEC, we aim to create an event that combines industrial vision, technical expertise and market pragmatism,” says Alessandra Astolfi, Global Exhibition Director of IEG’s Green & Technology Division. “Photovoltaics and energy storage systems are now key enablers in addressing energy supply challenges, cost stability and business competitiveness. Our conference programme has been designed to support this transformation by focusing on the issues that are reshaping the value chain: from buildings to industry, from agrivoltaics to energy-system flexibility. Vicenza and the wider North-East region offer significant potential, where industrial demand, innovation and the energy transition can meet in a tangible and productive way.”

Created in synergy with KEY – The Energy Transition Expo, SSEC positions itself as a specialised and complementary event, designed to ensure continuous engagement with the market and provide the solar and storage industry with a new opportunity for discussion, business development and networking throughout the year.

The event targets manufacturers, distributors, EPC contractors, designers, investors and large energy users, establishing itself as a key meeting point for a sector that is playing an increasingly strategic role in reshaping global economic dynamics.
