Manuel Perez-Ruiz, María Barrera e Luis Sánchez-Fernández are key researchers of the project under Smart Biosystems Laboratory — the #iMASO project. The project aims to calculate carbon emissions over the full maize (corn) crop cycle when the maize is used for bioethanol production, using advanced precision-agriculture technologies (satellite imagery, sensors, machinery data) to track the environmental footprint.
