“My brother Lorenzo had hydraulic oil in his veins,” says Claudio Merzari. “He started working in the industry right after school, joining a company in the Bosch group. After that company closed, he moved to another firm before deciding to start his own business. Today, with a team of 40 people, we continue to carry forward his vision with the same passion.”
The company operates in multiple sectors, including amusement rides, oil & gas, steel, railway, and food industries, always focusing on quality and customization. “Wherever there is hydraulics, we are there,” Merzari states.

Power Hydraulik’s patented hydraulic cylinders for amusement rides are just one example of how the company combines safety with innovation. “We have been producing them for over 25 years,” says Merzari, “but what sets us apart is that we adapt them to the customer’s needs, not the other way around.” This approach led to the development of a more compact model with concentric accumulation, designed to optimize limited space behind seats. “We manufacture cylinders that ensure the secure closure of safety restraints in amusement ride seats. Unlike other manufacturers who offer standardized models, we provide tailor-made solutions for specific customer needs,” Merzari explains.
The company is ISO 9001 certified and handles not only production but also design, offering a complete service from concept to installation. “We are not a company focused on high volume and low costs. Our added value lies in quality and service. Our customers appreciate our work and remain loyal over time.”
It is precisely in customized projects that the company excels. A notable example is the Innovator 2.0 ROV from Saipem, a remotely operated underwater vehicle capable of operating at thousands of meters below the surface. “We handled all the hydraulic and structural components,” says Merzari. “The first two units were assembled and tested directly in our facilities, where we even built a dedicated water tank for testing.”
Equally impressive are the projects in the railway sector. “We developed the hydraulic power units for the ETR 610, the famous Pendolino high-speed train, and we are currently completing an order for Amtrak, the American railway company.” These projects demonstrate the company’s unique ability to combine engineering precision with flexibility.
Looking ahead
Power Hydraulik continues to evolve, focusing on new collaborations and innovations. “We are distributors and suppliers for Danfoss, working on several exciting projects together. We have also launched a commercial division to better promote our products, especially in the Triveneto region.”
