WORKBOX: Sintesi s.r.l.’s Innovation for Efficient and Secure Management

Founded in 1996, Sintesi s.r.l. emerged from the extensive experience of professionals specialized in designing and implementing systems for presence detection and access control. From the very beginning, the company has stood out for its ability to provide advanced, cutting-edge, and highly reliable solutions, meeting the needs of both public and private companies across the national territory.

Thanks to a continuous pursuit of innovation and the desire to maintain in-house expertise, Sintesi has progressively expanded its product range, transitioning from a reseller to a direct developer/manufacturer. Today, the company offers integrated solutions for personnel management, from presence detection and access control to the controlled distribution of personal protective equipment (PPE) and company tools.

Silvano Ferro, the legal representative of Sintesi s.r.l., shares the company’s journey and the launch of an innovative new product: WORKBOX, an advanced system for the management and controlled distribution of tools and materials.

The evolution of Sintesi s.r.l.: From early products to fully customized solutions

Mr. Ferro, could you tell us how Sintesi Srl was founded and what the first solutions offered were?

“Sintesi Srl was established in 1996 with a specific focus on employee management within companies. We started by selling devices for timekeeping and attendance tracking for payroll purposes, such as time clocks and time recorders. Later, we specialized in access control, a crucial sector for many companies looking to automate the management of doors, gates, barriers, and turnstiles. The idea was simple: eliminate the need for a doorman to manually grant access to employees. With a personalized badge, each worker gains access only to the areas they are authorized to enter.”

When did you decide to transition from being a reseller to a direct developer/manufacturer?

“Initially, we focused on reselling third-party products, but we realized that many of the improvements we suggested to our suppliers ended up being made available to our competitors as well. We wanted to keep the know-how in-house and offer our clients exclusive solutions, so we embarked on the path of becoming direct developers/manufacturers. We started by designing and producing our own time recorders and access readers, paying great attention to aesthetics and customization. Our clients recognize us for the quality and refined design of our products, which can be customized with the company’s logo.”

WORKBOX: A new approach to material management in companies

After tackling access control, you developed solutions for key management and PPE distribution. How did you arrive at WORKBOX?

“The idea for WORKBOX stemmed from the need to overcome the limitations of traditional vending machines for PPE and tools. Companies often use vending machines with rotating trays similar to those in snack dispensers, but these have significant limitations in terms of space and adaptability. With WORKBOX, we created a modular system that can manage not only PPE like gloves and safety glasses but also shoes, clothing, tools, and bulky equipment.”

What are the main features of WORKBOX?

“WORKBOX is an innovative, European-patented vending machine that uses trays of various depths, internally divided into compartments of different sizes depending on the products to be managed. This allows for the storage of a wide range of items, from small office supplies to larger tools. But the real strength lies in its controlled retrieval and return system: when an employee selects an item, WORKBOX retrieves only the tray containing the authorized product and brings it to the pickup area, limiting access exclusively to that item. This eliminates the risk of unauthorized withdrawals and increases employee accountability.”

How does WORKBOX impact company management and costs?

“WORKBOX optimizes time and reduces costs in several ways. First, it eliminates the need for a warehouse worker to manually distribute tools, allowing employees to retrieve materials 24/7 without delays. Second, it tracks every withdrawal and return in real time, ensuring transparent inventory management. Third, it reduces waste: when employees know they are being monitored, improper or excessive use of materials decreases, leading to a reduction in consumption by up to 30%. Additionally, WORKBOX sends automatic low-stock notifications, enabling timely replenishment without accumulating unused materials in the warehouse.”

The future of Sintesi: Expansion and internationalization

After the launch of WORKBOX, what are Sintesi s.r.l.’s next goals?

“We developed WORKBOX between late 2022 and 2023, and in 2024, we began actively promoting it. We obtained the Italian patent in 2022 and expect to secure the European patent by early 2025, confirming that we have developed an innovative product with potential interest across Europe. This motivates us to promote our product internationally. We are evaluating various strategies to enter new markets and strengthen our presence in the automated business management sector. Our goal for 2025 is to expand our market, not only in Italy but also abroad.”

In summary, what added value does WORKBOX bring to companies?

“WORKBOX represents a revolution in the management of company resources. It is not just a vending machine but a comprehensive system that enhances efficiency, reduces waste, and optimizes work time. Companies that adopt it not only reduce operational costs but also create a more organized and secure work environment. Our goal is to provide increasingly advanced solutions to help businesses better manage their personnel and resources.”
